After more than two months without mobile updates, we are pleased to report that development has resumed, and we submitted a new update to the Google Play Store today.
This delay was due to an extensive overhaul of our codebase, during which we had to focus our testing and stabilization efforts primarily on the PC build. We are now actively maintaining both versions again and are focused on resolving the major issues present in previous releases—specifically, poor memory management that led to crashes and thermal throttling.
To address these performance issues, the mobile version is to heavily leverage dynamic asset management. Where assets are loaded into RAM only when they are actively needed and promptly unloaded when they aren’t. This frees up system resources, allowing your device to run the application much more efficiently.
Additionally, this codebase upgrade included massive overhaul of our vehicle system to deliver a more robust and realistic driving experience. We have also integrated a new, professionally built traffic system framework to provide a more realistic road environment.
While this new mobile version release may still have a few rough edges that we should refine over time, it clearly demonstrates our core mission: providing a practical, reliable digital supplement to traditional K53 driver training. For downloads options, please see our Downloads page.
