Below is a breakdown of how to get started with the K53 Simuator – intended primarily for complete beginners. The applicable steps are the same for both the Demo and the activated version of the simulator.
- Download and extract the v5.0Demo.zip file
- Open the extracted v5.0Demo folder
- Double click the K53 Simulator
- Click Start Trial or enter your activation code if you have one
- Click Tutorial if you are new or Drive Now if you are a little familiar with PC games or simulator
- Find a fuller list of controls here
- Drive from random start spots and part at random destinations (blue location pin) following K53 Manual rules.
General Tips:
- Press Esc or Escape for the SIM options
- If you are new, start with the code 10 truck even if you intend to get tested with a code 8 vehicle.
SIM Speed Tips:
- Go under Display menu and enable FPS to see how smooth the SIM runs on your system. Anything near or above 30 is good. Else use the below to help.
- Disable mirrors if not needed – such as when you have disabled traffic. (Impact – Very high)
- Disable Screen Space AO (Impact – Very high)
- Disable Post Processing (Impact – High)
- Set Quality Level to Medium or Low
- Disable traffic if you are practicing other arts of the K53 driving rules (Impact – Medium)
